Q?I really want to get (fill in the blank) stronger. Will CrossFit help?
A.

Answer is: YES!! We do not focus on one particular body part on a given day. While “random” programming gets your whole body fitter and stronger, there is a method to the madness. Function movements are just that! FUNCTIONAL!!

Q?I’m visiting from another CrossFit gym?
A.

We welcome drop-in athletes. Please give us a heads up when you might be coming by.

Q?I’m already super fit, do I have to do the foundation classes?
A.

Have you been regularly squatting, dead lifting and pressing?  How about snatching and cleaning dumbbells?  Climbing ropes?  We have established (high) movement standards that you must meet in order to gain entry to our ongoing group classes.  If you are competent at performing basic gymnastics movements, the power and Olympic lifts, and are already fit, you may be a candidate for testing out. Contact info@crossfittakeoff.com to set up a test out.

Q?Do I have to bring any special equipment?
A.

No, all you need to have is good running shoes, comfortable workout clothes, a water bottle, and a smile!

Q?Do I have to be in shape?
A.

Absolutely not! There is a common misconception that you have to get into shape to do CrossFit. CrossFit can suit any level of fitness as well as disabilities. Our experienced Coaches will go over movement standards and talk with you on how to adjust the daily WOD for you. There are many different ways to adjust WODs to individual athlete’s abilities.

Q?Can I drop in and try a class out?
A.

ABSOLUTELY!! While we don’t allow new drop-ins to our regular classes, we DO offer a FREE Introductory WOD . CLICK HERE TO SET UP THE INTRO. If you want to just watch and see a class going on, STOP ON BY!!! Also visit our Getting Started page to learn more.

Q?What is CrossFit?
A.

CrossFit is elite fitness for everyone. Our classes and private coaching are based on the CrossFit program originally developed by Coach Greg Glassman. CrossFit workouts are comprised of constantly varied functional movements (squatting, lifting, running, pushing, pulling) executed at high intensity. At Crossfit TakeOff, you will not find any machines – instead, you will find barbells, pull up bars, gymnastics rings, ropes, boxes, kettlebells, medicine balls, sleds, and open space for running, jumping, climbing, lifting, and throwing. The workoutsare completely scalable. Which means that a new participant and a CrossFit veteran can complete the same workout with changes in load and intensity. CrossFit workouts will deliver phenomenal fitness in and of themselves or as a complement to your sport-specific training regime.

CrossFit Rife’s programming aims to improve your capacity in ten recognized fitness domains: cardio-respiratory endurance, stamina, strength, flexibility, power, speed, coordination, agility, balance and accuracy. The result is comprehensive physical fitness and restored vitality.
